What new Champions would you like to see?

To my surprise, and delight, the Champions are definitely our top selling range, by far. Originally, I had planned to start the company selling -just- the Champions, but several folks advised adding other ranges early on in order to make the Champions financially worthwhile.

While I'm pleased that I went ahead and pushed the plans for a Pulp range into overgear, I would be lying if I said it doesn't give me an ego boost to see the "original" line doing so well in comparison.

We have had a lot of questions about who is coming next in the range and how we decide what to cover. Essentially, I have a gigantic list of personalities that I'd like to see in miniature, and it's a matter of determining "when" is the best time to release a given personality figure (if at all). The next miniatures in the range will be Mata Hari, John Dillinger, Julian the Apostate, and a fourth "surprise" miniature.

So, that begs the question, what would YOU like to see? If you had your choice, who would you make a miniature of? Maybe a historical personality that has been done before (but not well), or a fictional character you admired growing up?

Remember, the range covers pretty much anyone, any time, and any place... so anything is possible. Keeping in mind of course that copyrighted material can be... problematic... unless the copyright holder is feeling particularly generous.

I'd be interested to hear your ideas.

I will start. While there would be absolutely NO WAY we could ever get the license for him, I would love to see a proper Golden Age Batman, in his original costume. I already have the original first edition Batmobile in 1:50, something Corgi did a few years ago.

Doc, you're asking difficult questions. wink

I need to think a bit to find an idea. It should be something I'd like to see and have others join me... confuse

Hm, watching TV previews, what about Sandman Logan? Or Captain Queeg from the USS Caine? Doctor Zhivago and Commander Strelnikov? Thanatos and his Thano Sons? Captain Future? Lt. A. K. Waters and Doctor Lena Kendrick? Charlie's Angels? Kane and General Solomon? The Last Samurai?

What do you think?

I have a hankering for a true and accurate version of Max Schreck playing Count Orlock in Nosferatu. I've seen a few attempts (including a home-green on LAF) but nothing to match the staring intensity.

Le Voltaire is another favourite.

Maximilian Robespierre and Edmund Danton - scary

Akbar the Great, Tecumseh, Geronimo, Chief Joseph of the Nez Perces (one of my ultimate heroes), Barbarosa the Pirate (not Geoffrey Rush!).

If you're making the tank, why not the man? - Leonardo da Vinci.
