During the First World War, the Russians designed or built a large number of armored designs in prototype phase, but relatively few of them actually saw service.
The Filatov three wheeled armored car was the exception.
I am pleased to announce that I've used my "mysterious mind control powers, learned at the feet of certain Tibetan monks" to convince Mancha, creator of the beautiful Filatov model for the Lead Adventure Forum "Build Something" Contest, to produce a master for Black Army.
Mancha is building the Filatov in 1/56 scale, and it is very similar to the vehicle he's built over at the LAF, with a few refinements (or so he tells me). He is making good progress, and while I don't want to put him on a time schedule, I'm guessing it'll probably be ready by January.
If all goes to plan, the Filatov will be joining the Romfell in a shipment to the caster, and both will, theoretically anyway, be available around the same time (I'm guessing late February at the earliest.)
I haven't decided on a price point yet, but the Filatov will -probably- be available at a price similar to that of the Euzkadi. Depends upon materials used and complexity of the final mold.
At any rate, I thought you guys might like to hear it first:)
Questions, comments, insults?;)

No insults here, Doc I was a bit surprised when I read the topic of this thread (knowing about the Build Something Contest), but it explained itself when I read that Mancha's behind it. I don't know if I'll make use of it, though. I'm thinking of using the Ehrhardt and maybe the Romfell as Death Korps Scout Vehicle. So far the Filatov doesn't fit in there.
Nevertheless, it's an extraordinary piece in your range and I wish you good luck with it
Yes, it's definitely an unusual vehicle, but I think it'll only add to the usefulness of the range. I can already forsee a lot of Back of Beyond players picking some of these things up, and at any rate, the sci-fi fans seem to be making great use of the Euzkadi already!
Got the master from Mancha on Friday. Beautiful, beautiful piece of modeling work. I think it will do very well. I will try to get it off to the caster soon.
Based upon the size of the model, and my guess as to the cost of the resin required, I'd say the cost for the Filatov will be no more than, say, $25 US, maybe less. Will let you all know when I have a firm grasp on the situation.
